Personal information provided to the X1/9 Owners Club (henceforth ‘the Club’) will be used in the following ways depending on your relationship with the Club:

Registered Website Users

In order to use to interact with the Club website you must register.  To do this, we only require that you provide a name, a valid email address and a password.  This data is used purely to support the management of your online account.

Website users can also volunteer additional personal information about themselves in the forum.  This is entirely optional and can be edited or removed at will by the forum user.

The IP address of forum users is logged.

 

Club Members

For Club members, personal information is held in order to support membership administration in the following ways:

  • Management of membership: The Club will use your personal data to manage your membership and use it to contact you by post and / or email regarding membership renewal. Club committee members have access to your personal data for use in Club business only.
  • Contacting members with Club news:  The Club will use your email address to contact you regarding Club events and other news.    From 25thMay 2018, we will only contact you in this way if you have explicitly requested it.  To change your email preferences, click here (the "Contact me by email" field is about half way down the page).  The Club uses a third-party service to send emails. The Club shares your name, email address and membership number with the service in order to facilitate this.
  • Club Magazine: The Club will use your address details in order to send magazines for members who have taken out full magazine membership.  Name, address and membership number are shared with a third-party printer in order to operate this service.

As part of membership, you may also volunteer information about your car.  This is not considered personal data, but if you have any concerns over the data held or wish for it to be removed, please contact the Club.

 

Regalia Shop Users

The Club will use your personal data to manage and fulfil regalia orders.  In certain cases, in particular where goods are made to order, fulfilment is carried out by a third-party.  Where this is the case, your name and address details will be shared with the relevant third-party.

 

What we won’t do with your data

The Club will not share personal information with any third-parties for marketing or for any purpose other than those described above.
