Hi everyone, first post on here
I'm currently restoring my dad's 1988 x19. Has been stood for 3 years so the rust had taken quite a hold. Planning on having her painted by the end of this month.

Our main issue though is the windscreen has smashed while trying to remove the piece of trim around it which had been very well glued.

Struggling to find a replacement. Are they still made or any idea where to get one from please. Any help would be much appreciated

Spending the whole of tomorrow working on the car so will post up some progress as I go

Best bet may be second hand but watch out for clouding in the glass. I think they are available new BUT there is a long waiting time. Bear in mind second hand seems to be £200 odd!!!!!

Hi Tony,

I had mine made by Pilkington Glass it cost £292 including VAT and when it was ready I collected it from their Rotherham Depot.

It took approx 4 weeks.

I got mine replaced via the insurance as it had cracked. I know not much help if the car is not currently insured but they had no problem getting hold of a screen. However it wasn't all plain sailing as there is a largish gap to fill between the screen and the surround and they created a right mess of lumpy misplaced sealer. I took the precaution of not letting them attach the trim.

I am also in need of a windscreen at some point, again for a 1988 x19. It does seem to be a real issue getting hold of one! If anyone finds anything, please let me know! Again, this car is not insured yet unfortunately, so i cant get a windscreen through that.

Clouding is defnitely an issue, im having to replace mine because it has been clouded and de-laminated, avoid getting used i would have said, but at the moment it also seems to be the only option...
