I don't think engine oil is critical, just use what is recommended but for the gearbox Redline MTL is very good. When I had problems changing gear after trying oil, it was a loose linkage between the gearbox and gear shifter rod that had loosened. Every time the gears get awkward now I tighten the nut, even though it is a nylock.
