1977 series rear lower valance colour

Hi all,

Does anybody know whether the rear lower centre valance should be body coloured or black on a series speciale? It's bugging me and I can't find a decent picture as reference.

It’s black on my car and I’m fairly certain that it’s how it was when it was new. The paint finish looks similar to that of the engine cover.

I've just had mine resprayed and I've got some paint left over, but I leave it black as it looks identical to yours. There's been a few blue speciales appear on ebay. I don't know if you saw the 18000 mile one from the channel islands. That had the valance painted blue but I guess it must have been resprayed.

I had the debate with myself also and couldn’t decide so went a bit mental lol

I could take it off and paint it with exhaust...
